Hands-On Patriotism

I don't have many heroes, but Andrew Breitbart was one of them. I deeply respect his fearlessness in being his own man and finding his own way through the midst of the crap put out by the media and politics.

God bless his family and those who dare to follow his lead in the future.

Speaking

My first speaker bought into 247Toolset today. Their use of it will be interesting, and I suspect I'll get quite a few more. The best part about it is that they needed several unique things, and 247Toolset already had most of it built in. I only need to make a couple of tweaks to the system, and one of them was already in the queue.

Also sold to a financial planner today.

The niches keep growing... which is a great thing.

I'll be driving to the Great Lakes region on a marketing swing in a couple of weeks. We'll see how it goes.

Bigger Yet

Got my first US Senate campaign using 247Toolset, and another leaning toward it.

Interesting

I haven't had my Dare phone for two years, and I got an email today from someone who found my cell phone drawings and had a couple of questions.

Crazy...

Mass Transit

Chicago hybrid bus. Photo by Seth Anderson (CC)

I was in Chicago on St. Patrick's Day, and drove on Lakeshore right by the parade before it started. The traffic, therefore, was pretty much stop and go due to the great number of pedestrians - a ton of people coming to the parade. The driving was inconvenient and a bit annoying, to say the least.

As I drove further south past the museum, staccato-style, a city bus drove by on the opposite side of the street. "Clean Air Hybrid Bus" it declared. Other than the driver, there wasn't one person on that bus as it drove toward the parade.

People don't like mass transit, and all the effort in the world to invest in it and make people like it won't work. They like the independence and mobility of a car, even in crowded, annoying, impossible-to-park driving conditions like Chicago's St. Patrick's Day parade.

The Joy of Being a Father

For anyone who ever wondered why I love being a dad to eight children, I give you Nick, who has started to play around with video.

I love that young man.

Wolf!, They Cried

Some things never change.

For those in New York, Washington, and Seattle, I'm sure they're relieved that this prediction, along with every other prediction made by climate scientists, has never come to pass.

But that won't stop the predictions.

The Art of Bias

I give you three headlines for the same story.

First, from the Washington Post:

Republican-run House easily rejects Obama budget as chamber moves toward approving GOP plan

Reading that, why it's those Republicans frustrating our dear president again - darn them. They just want their own plan.

Now, forget the first headline and here it is from Fox News:

House easily rejects Obama budget in tactical vote

Reading that, the House of Representatives rejects Obama's budget. No finger-pointing at Republicans.

Okay... now another source, this time from the Oklahoman.

Obama budget fails 414-0 as Democrats bail

Forget the first two headlines... not one member of the House of Representatives voted for Obama's budget. All Republicans and all Democrats voted against it.

So read once more the headline from the Washington Post. That, my friend, is pure bias. That is spin. The article's source is the Associated Press, which is the source of news for thousands of outlets.

If you ever wondered why conservatives increasingly ignore major TV and print media, this is why. The Washington Post / Associated Press didn't give the truth. Not even close. In fact, they misrepresented the story.
