This is starting to move in the direction I want it to move, particularly the left, front petal that is purple-red-yellow.  A few things made the difference. - A solid line sketch in pencil of the flower.
- Reducing my palette to only four colors: cadmium red medium, cadmium yellow medium, dioxazine purple, and titanium white.
- Listening to New Order.
I'm cool with this one. I'll rework the areas I don't like and finish this tomorrow. |

I agree. I couldn't be specific, but something about your style evokes some of the same "feel" I get when I look at some of Georges Rouault's works. |
