If only lifting people out of poverty was the goal of the politicians who, long ago, figured out they gain incredible power by telling the poor who is to blame for their poverty.

I wish politicians would get out of the solutions business altogether. We can't afford their solutions, whether to lift people out of poverty or anything else. The politicians will render it horribly inefficient and ridiculously expensive every time.
