Punishment

I could talk about the killer Drudge headline, "The Ego Has Landed." But that says it all. 'Nuff said.

My van is on its last legs, unfortunately. Still runs fine, but it'll need to be replaced.

I browsed Ford's web site last night and talked to a guy at the dealership. Today, I see this:

GM's sales are down 45% from last September (when sales were already bad enough to drive the company into bankruptcy). Chrysler is down 42%. Ford is only down 5%. Car buyers are clearly punishing the two bailout recipients brutally.
No one in my family will ever buy a GM or Chrysler car. Tamara and I are planning to buy Fords as our next cars.

Freedom - it's everything.

Annette and I have had a similar discussion.

We both agreed it's ok to buy pre-owned "pre-bailout" GM products.

That would mean nothing after the 2008 model year, just to be safe.

The lack of quality from all of the traditional US automakers is why I'm currently in an FJ Cruiser. I never thought I'd buy a Toyota but after problems with both Chevy and Ford I switched and couldn't be happier.

Tamara and I both like the FJ. You like it? I'm not a big fan of the new Ford truck grills (I think they're squarish and ugly), but I'd love to continue to see Ford kick Government Motor's butt.

By the way, any thoughts about Obama's success in de-nuclear-weaponizing the world, given his O-lympic performance?

I know what you mean about the Ford truck grills. If they make the tires any bigger you'll need a ladder to get up into it too. I saw where the 2010's will have some models with 20".

Yeah I am very happy with the FJ Cruiser. Other than standard maintenance items (brakes and tires at 50-60k miles, oil changes) I haven't had any issues. It gets about 17-20 miles. I love the silver color too as dirt doesn't show up as easily. :)

Rush sure pegged Obama when he said he wanted to "do" being president, not "be" president. I figure that 2 week window is what Netanyahu gave Obama before Israel takes action like they did in Syria back in 2007. Gotta love the headline from Drudge though.

I bet Letterman is thankful Obama quickly took back over the headlines. One jackass trumps another.
