I used to be adjective happy. Now I cut them with so much severity that I find I have to put a few adjectives back.

Once Again

If McCain pulls it out, tonight was the turnaround. The media, sneering at the Alaska bumpkin who was heavily edited to support their meme, got one-upped big-time by the unedited, smiling, freedom-loving governor from Alaska in a debate where she eagerly outshone an eternal Washingtonian.

Truth? Katie Couric wouldn't recognize it if it pinched her formerly perky cheeks.

Oh, one other thing - my odds of an attempt to replace Biden with Hillary: 3 to 1. But... after this, because you know that she and Bill watched this, you know that Hillary doesn't want to go up against Palin.

Last point: Palin will run the campaign from here forward. Her and the First Dude. Because when she is front and center and talking to us (step aside Ms. Ifill), things happen. McCain's leadership shows once again that he's not afraid to hire someone better than himself. Hopefully, she rubs off on her running mate. And hopefully, Obama finds it necessary to distractedly go after Palin. He's gonna have to, because she's gonna go after him.

As PR says it, beware the 'Cuda!

Did you catch Pailin calling Biden "O'Biden" at one point? I don't think she realized she'd done it. Too funny.

Anybody who doesn't think she has what it takes to be top dog someday simply isn't paying attention. If anything, she made huge strides towards a 2112 bid of her own. I was close to writing McCain off. However, I'm with you, Brett. I still think there's a chance after Palin's performance tonight.

I had a call from a friend after the debate who wasn't so happy with Palin as the VP choice. He simply didn't know enough about her to be comfortable with her. His response was, "She kicked butt".

Let's hope that a ton of people had that impression, Kelly. It would be interesting to hear what her natoinal agenda would be without McCain. I think that she has the uncommon ability to sell a difficult sell, such as cutting spending. I think that she could frame the reasons for it in a way that people would understand and go along with it.

Damn I missed the "O'Biden" slip. I'm hoping to catch a clip of it today. Now that is must see tv. :)

As much as the hypocritical left is trying to spin this as Palin memorizing talking points (talk about the pot calling the kettle black), 'Cuda owned him. They should have passed out "Joe's my bitch" shirts at the end. If this is going to swing back we have got to see more of the true 'Cuda. With the buzz around her, I actually think the ticket would be doing better if she were at the top.

If they do try to swap Hillary and Biden now I'd be stunned if they'd agree to a debate. I wonder what the legal options are for replacing a candidate who is a liability and drags down the ticket (dems got away with it with Lautenberg in NJ, they knew they were losing so switched candidates). I think if it happens it will be early next week. Stay tuned.

Did anyone else think Biden looked different last night? Surfing around today I'm seeing comments that it appears "Say it ain't so, Joe" had a little botox done. That makes sense as his forehead didn't move thru all the different facial expressions. Too damn funny if it is true.

Other than the death ray's beamed from his mouth every time he smiled I didn't notice anything, but, I was too blinded to do so. First time I remember having to have my sunglasses handy just to watch television.

Maybe you needed shades because, well, Biden is shady... (ducking)

I was curious why 'Cuda didn't hang the financial mess around Biden and the Dems necks at the start the the debate. I was actually a bit disappointed as she left her response basically pointing at predatory lenders. I wondered if it was the debate format and she just ran out of time or if she missed a big opportunity.

Turns out she may have been asked to back off by the campaign. http://www.patterico.com/2008/10/05/maybe-it-wasnt-sarahs-fault/

Thinking about it, 'Cuda went far and above what she needed to do. McCain needs to start pulling his weight and what better way for him to take the gloves in the debate this week. America isn't happy with the "crap sandwich 2.0." Making it crystal clear who created the mess and who protected fannie/freddie from oversight will deliver some mighty big blows.

It won't impact the pure base of "The One" as they are impervious to reason and logic, but it could go a long way with voters on the fence.

Crap sandwich 2.0... lmao

This is yet another indication that McCain doesn't want to hurt his fellow Senators.

Something I've been chewing on: McCain had no problem laying into Mitt and twisting his words. Is it because Mitt was a governor, not a Senator? Mitt's not a member of the congressional club, see, in case McCain loses and to which he'll have to return. In which case our crap snadwich 2.0 is Bob Dole 1996, the Remake.

I think McCain just wants to get along with everyone. This is not a culture war to him. It's just the friendly exchange of ideas, where, my friends, we sometimes disagree.

Bullshit.

That, and McCain just doesn't like/trust business. And he himself is kind of a big-government type/let's-all-just-get-along type, anyway (see McCain/Feingold).

Palin had me looking at the old guy with misty eyes there for a minute, which demonstrates how she can sell snow to an Eskimo, but all this telegraphing "I'm taking the gloves off" business and such... I dunno. Proof's in the pudding.

Man up, Senator. Fight for your country. Pop up a blue pill and sprout some wood, for chrissakes. Ask Bob Dole... losing sucks.
