Fred's Tuggin' on My Ear

I read today that Iowa's Rep. Steve King, a man whose principles I respect, has endorsed Fred Thompson.

I'm warming up to Fred... his manner is that you can talk to the guy and feel better after the discussion no matter how it turns out.

Thanks to Chris and Kelly, both Thompson supporters, for their recent comments here on the web site.

If Fred pulls his organization together well, I might pull for Fred on caucus day.

Nice interview. Thanks for posting this, Brett! I'm not a big fan of Fox-n-Friends -- but they did a pretty good job here I think.

Kind of like you mentioned, Brett, I always feel like Fred really answered the questions asked of him, and answered them honestly. I don't see any top tier candidate in either party confident enough in what they believe to speak so honestly. Fred stands alone there. Gives me hope, man! :)

I'm encouraged to see Fred has decided to hit Iowa hard. I've always thought Fred can pull off a pretty good run here if he just buckled down and started proving to Iowan's he's not fooling around, and really wants this job. I think this new momentum shows he really is in this to win. I hope it's not too little too late though! I guess we'll see!

I've always liked Fred, I just wish we would see and hear more of him. I've been a bit cool on Fred mainly because I got the impression he really wasn't 100% in it. Between getting in late and being more low key than the other candidates I just didn't think he was in it for the long haul.

So I am all for Fred stepping up and taking a more active role. The more I hear the more I like and with his ability to communicate, he has a leg up, even on Mr. Smoothie.

I came across this earlier this evening:

Republican Presidential candidate Fred Thompson today, upon hearing that rival Ron Paul’s supporters had raised $6 million in 24 hours to commemorate the Boston Tea Party, called on his supporters to match that figure in gun purchases before Christmas to mark George Washington’s victory at the Battle of Trenton.

“I’m tired of running around the country raising money that I just have to hand over to the same mainstream media companies that ignore my campaign,” said the former senator from Tennessee. “We’ve done enough this year to support the so-called free press of the first amendment. Let’s give a boost to our friends who make it possible for us to exercise our second amendment right to keep and bear arms.”

Doesn't matter if he was serious or not but this gets him a big "you da man" from me. Fred's got some big ole grapefruits. :)

Oops, that previous post was from me.

PR. Just FYI -- that was satire spread by Scott Ott of Scrappleface. Fred's campaign mentioned it on their blog yesterday.

Although funny, it wasn't from Fred.

(Though it would be cool if it were) ;)

BUT.... Here's one from Fred on the second amendment that I just loved. (I think it came from the DSM Reg.)

Asked about the Second Amendment, Thompson said: “I consider good gun control as a real steady aim.”

LOL. Perfect!

Thanks Chris. I kinda took it tongue in cheek as I hadn't heard of scrappleface before. I got a HUGE laugh out of it. To even mention it on his site shows Fred has a great sense of humor. Big big plus for him.

“I consider good gun control as a real steady aim.” Too damn funny. Fred's stock is certainly rising the more I hear from him.

This is a 'test' of "special characters" & any # of other things; of course, if you don't like it, that's up to you.
