I read and walked for miles at night along the beach, writing bad blank verse and searching endlessly for someone wonderful who would step out of the darkness and change my life. It never crossed my mind that that person could be me.

What Sells

I'm surprised by what sold in my cards, to some degree. The ones that are most popular hold no surprises. But the ones that didn't sell? That's what gets me...

In the last month, here's what sold at one retailer, the Village Bean, a coffee shop:

CardQty Sold
5
5
5
5
4
4
3
3!!
2
2
2
1
0!!
0!!

The ones in bold are the ones that surprised me. I find it hard to believe that none of the golf or snow cards sold. I understand that snow has been out of season - fair enough - we'll see how they do in the next month. But no golf??

And how did the "Child Hug" card surpass the "Mother and Child" card?

Hmm... all of this plays into what I choose for subjects. Let's see what happens in the next month.

I'm surprised the snow card hasn't sold, too. That's always been my faveorite. I'm glad things are going good with this. You seem upbeat and motivated. Always a good thing to be. :)

Boy, y'know, cats always sell don't they? In our experience cats and angels were always a done deal. I was a little surprised that the hug sold more than the mom and child too...the only thing I can think of is that the mom really does say Mother's day or new baby, where for some reason, the hug seems more 'all occasion'.

Snow will go like gangbusters in the next month or so (said the woman who bought Andy Warhol xmas cards today) and golf...Next June?
