Random Quote

In a longish life as a professional writer, I have heard a thousand masterpieces talked out over bars, restaurant tables and love seats. I have never seen one of them in print. Books must be written, not talked.

Sobering Thought

If it were President Romney today, I have no doubt that the Gang of Eight immigration bill and the Toomey-Manchin gun control bill would both be law right now.

Romney would have supported both, would have pressured Republicans into voting for them, and there you go.

You have any doubt that he wouldn't have supported them? And if you have no doubts about it, why wouldn't they be law?

What I've learned in considering that: I'm only going to vote principle, because sometimes it's okay to create cross-aisle gridlock. If the right person isn't nominated, I'm gardening. I'm done with McCains and Romneys.
