They Lie

I give you two some pictures. Judge for yourself the reliability of our nation's press corps.

The first picture is an aerial shot of Obama's inauguration, which had an estimated attendance of 1.5 million.

The second picture is an aerial shot of the 9/12 event, which had an estimated attendance of "tens of thousands."

Decide for yourself whether you should pay any attention at all to the mainstream press corps.

CORRECTION

I've had to replace the original second photo. Shortly after I posted the picture, a few folks caught that the pic I had was not of the 9/12 event, as was said on a few other web sites where I had seen it. (Apologies for posting an incorrect pic, but the great thing about the net is that you can get comments from anywhere to keep it straight, and so I am.)

I give you some others instead, as you see below. These pictures are from the event, and they're the best I can find to display the crowd.

Notice that in the first pic of the 9/12 event the people go down the street on the right for quite a way.

In the pics below, this is looking to the right and then to the left, taken by this guy.

And this is just the very front of the crowd...

I'll keep looking for an aerial shot. Strange that there aren't any easily found. What I do know, from pictures and from those who were there, is that the event was filled from the Capitol to the Washington Monument, just as was shown in the Promise Keepers pic I had originally displayed (not the Million Man March, as someone suggested in the comments).

ETC: I'll give you one more, this from a FoxNews screencap, closer to the Washington monument, which shows how packed it was this far back in the mall.

Compare this crowd density to the inauguration photo, and it's easily comparable.

I salute the millions of people who showed up along the way and the capitol for 9/12.

The second picture is from 1997, look it up on Google, NOT the 9-12 March

I especially like how in the second photo of the 9/12 march, the National Museum of the American Indian isn't there yet and the paths around the Washington Monument are about how they were in the 1990s. Also, the Capitol Lawn is completely empty, even though this image shows the Capitol Lawn completely full - http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/09/12/article-1213056-0666DB48000005DC-801_634x330.jpg

Clearly the 9/12 march was so huge with trillions of people that it bent reality itself and pushed back time itself to about the year of the Million Man March.

Corrected - thanks, Sandy!

Great job, Brett!

We are all still looking hard for aerial comparisons of the two events to downplay the MSM downplaying. From the time lapse video that is up on the web, it easily displaces their tens of thousands.

Thanks, Trent.

I care about my credibility. While I certainly have an agenda I want to push in returning our country to one that champions individual freedom, if I post something here and my sources aren't right, then it's my responsibility to correct myself. I owe that to myself and to those who read my site.

Sadly, as an amateur, I seem to care more about my credibility than the media - the professionals(!) - care about their credibility. There is no way that the Washington Post will correct its headline of "tens of thousands" or even try to do a valid comparison. They live there and have the resources to do such a comparison. But they pursue their agenda at any cost.

I showed my son the photos without any explanation. "That second set of pictures is packed with people! The first picture - there's a lot of space between crowds." I then told him what it represented. He laughed and said, "Of course they don't want you to know how many were there!"

Take a look at some of the images and a diagram estimating crowd size (from Michelle Malkin) http://michellemalkin.com/2009/09/12/yes-the-picture-is-real-nutroots/

I understand according to Glenn Beck that an aerial head count was done and they came up with 1.7 million. More than any other march on Washington in history, if I'm not mistaken.

Glenn Beck...the mere mention of the lunatic's name undermines the credibility of the right. You're guilty of lunacy by association.

While we chose not to show up and scream while brandishing crude, offensive signs--racist, fearful, threatening, and worse, along with your silly Gadsden's flags--rest assured the iberal militia majority is watching, watching, watching...and smiling. The unhinged fringe of radical conservative objectivism is destroying the GOP. We don't have to do a thing! Saturn devours her own children.

Keep up the great work sheeple.

What a joke. Not a single arrest at this event. What racist signs? To oppose Obama's idiotic policies makes us racist? Please.

Just watch as Obama tanks with each passing day. He's doing such a stellar job across the board. No more blame Bush, it's accountability time and the Dems are in deep shit.

On a personal note, you really are a jackass.
