Three things to know about this group of people: - I didn't pay them anything to show up.
- The insurance lobby didn't pay these people to show up.
- All of them showed up in the middle of a huge rainstorm and worked the meeting agenda for 2½ hours because they love this country and they're sick and tired of watching politicians ruin it.
And by the way... next Sunday's meeting will be even bigger. What did we meet about? It was a brainstorming session, comprised of business owners, engineers, salespeople, airline pilots, IT directors, and retired folks. We're out to defeat the direction of this Congress and roust them out of office next year. As opposed to the other side, which has to find the unemployed through Craigslist. You tell me who has a better shot. No wonder the other side of this is throwing every spitball they can. P.S. If the media buys into Obama's BS that this is all astroturf, then as our neighbors watch us congregate and work together, the media looks like idiots who can't gather facts (as do the politicians, for that matter). I'm good with that. |

What no swastika's? No suits? What would the state run media say? In my not so humble opinion, every one of these town halls should start with the question "Will you and your family participate in the Obamacare plan and forgo the current plans open to congress/senate?" If the answer is no then end of debate. If the ruling class won't participate then end of discussion. |

I'm working very hard to try and influence our political into this line of thinking: Politicians must work in government to protect our liberty, preserve choice and the free market, and pull down government obstructions wherever found. We will fight - tooth and nail - any politician who goes to Washington to craft solutions on our behalf. While it would be great if they forced themselves to eat their own dogfood, it would be far better if they just got out of the dogfood business altogether. |

See, you have an even better idea. Here I am already sucked into the battle over how to do it. You are right, it isn't their job and they should just stay out of it altogether. Same goes for social security and countless other programs. |

Just a thought, but something else that can be done locally, is to tune into 98.3 to Bradshaws show (typically 1-4 pm M-F). It is a great oppurtunity to get your thought heard on the air, and if you have well thought out opinions he is actually very easy to defeat, whether he'll admit it or not, the folks listening can discern between his irrational smarmy non-sequitors, and a rational thought. |

Hey Larry I agree that having an antagonist helps to sharpen the arguments. Personally, I never listen to Bradshaw. I just don't want to give him traffic, which is how he makes his money. I'd rather that his show reflect the bankruptcy of his ideas. |

Yeah, intelligent people tend to ignore him, so the majority of the calls he gets are folks illequipped to argue, therefore he comes off more knowledgeable than he really is, which works a nerve for me I guess. :) |
