Random Quote Use plain, simple language, short words and brief sentences. That is the way to write English - it is the modern way and the best way. Stick to it; don't let fluff and flowers and verbosity creep in. When you catch an adjective, kill it. No, I don't mean utterly, but kill most of them - then the rest will be valuable. A wordy habit, once fastened upon a person, is as hard to get rid of as any other vice. -- Mark Twain

My favorite artist is Charles Sovek. Love his work. As I've evolved as an artist, his work with color and how he sees things has had an impact on me. This is one of my very favorite of his paintings, one he did of his living room. Charles worked hard to see not objects, but patches of color. He painted what he saw, and he did it with so much vibrancy of color. In a colorless world, where the individual and achievement are threatened, this painting moves me greatly. In fact, it's the background on my phone. Art is a good thing... beauty is important. |
