Random Quote

Who wants to become a writer? And why? Because it's the answer to everything. To 'Why am I here?' To uselessness. It's the streaming reason for living. To note, to pin down, to build up, to create, to be astonished at nothing, to cherish the oddities, to let nothing go down the drain, to make something, to make a great flower out of life, even if it's a cactus.

Request

This is an open request for anyone in the playground here to create a post on beatcanvas regarding your take on Palin's speech tonight.

I'm not watching it - got work to do, unfortunately. But I'd love your input here, if you're okay with it.

Hey Brett! I'll give it a shot but am having a problem when I select the "Add Content" link in the gated playground. It takes me to the login screen but when I select the button, nothing happens.

About 70 minutes until she speaks. I'm not going to miss this. I'm still ticked off.

Try it now - and thanks for the heads up!

Welcome! One step closer but it threw the following error when I hit save:

Provider error '80020005'

Type mismatch.

/content_add.asp, line 116

I'll post what I wrote in a separate response here for now.

Title: It's On

I'm sitting here trying to digest all of the red meat both Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin threw to not only conservatives but the entire country. My anger on display earlier now replaced with excitement. Balance has been restored. Fact often has that effect on me and after watching Rudy absolutely take Obama apart, not with personal attacks but with fact, had me giving fist pumps. Rudy may have given the line of the campaign with 'This is not a personal attack....it's a statement of fact - Barack Obama has never led anything.' I stood and cheered.

On to Sarah Palin. If the MSM thought they had her on the ropes they found out tonight she isn't going anywhere. She came out to the frenzy Rudy created, toned it down a bit, talked about her own roots, her family (which I thought was handled in a classy yet personal enough way - she alluded to the challenges any family faces without delving into her daughters pregnancy). Side note: I thought it was fantastic that her daughter's fiance was brought in. Call me crazy but I like it when a family pulls together, embraces one another. She then dialed it up, working the crowd into a frenzy that actually topped Rudy. I won't re-hash her best points as they are already all over the net. It would be hard to pick just one.

I will say when it comes to speaking style I give Sarah Palin higher marks than Barry. There are no ahhhhs, ummmms. I actually wondered if she was even using the teleprompter or just casually glancing at the notes in front of her. She had command of everything and she connects with people. None of the shrillness and anger Hillary suffers from.

Fred rocked the house last night, Rudy raised the roof tonight, and Sarah followed it up by blowing it off the building. Message to Obama-Biden and the MSM - "It's On!"

Forget topping these three. John McCain is going to have a hard time just matching them Thursday night. It won't matter though. When it comes to the GOP, party unity isn't an issue.

I'll fix that, and then you're welcome to post any time, PR.

Thanks for your patience...
